About the Studio

Self-taught artist, entrepreneur and art lover.
After spending three years in California, USA, where she develops a different perspective on life, Eileen returned to Costa Rica, and opened her own art gallery in Playa Tamarindo, Guanacaste.

Her strong commitment to promoting Costa Rican visual arts led her to incorporate more than a dozen fellow artists into her gallery. Bringing together sculptors and painters alongside her own work, she helped consolidate, between 1996 and 2008, an important example of artistic practice in a coastal area of the Costa Rican Pacific, where art activity was still limited at the time.

Her works can be found in private collections in Germany, Spain, Canada, the United States, France, and Costa Rica.

Subsequently, due to family matters, she moved to San José, where Eileen decides to study a technician in Interior Design. During this period, she combined personal projects with visits to galleries and museums, while continuing to support and promote Costa Rican artists, including her own work.

On several occasions, Eileen assisted in the sales, information, and promotion of Latin American art with Ford Fine Art Gallery of Florida, during Art Miami Week international fairs.Â

She later became involved in an Art finance project, with a renowned Costa Rican gallerist. For various reasons, however, the program did not move forward after being fully structured and completed.Â
Â
As both an artist and art promoter, Eileen later decided to complement her professional path with a university career, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in fine arts, at UCCART University, in San José, Costa Rica.
Â
Simultaneously, she contributed for 4 years as a volunteer collaborator with Suzanne Snider and Mark Ford of Ford Fine Art, Florida, USA, assisting with logistics formalities, and regional connections involved in the development of the bilingual art book: "Modernism in Central America".
Â
The book was first presented at Museo Carlos Mérida, Guatemala City in February 2020, and later presented in Costa Rica on November 2nd,2022, at the Museo de Arte Costarricense , making Costa Rica the second country to host its official presentation.

Today, Playa Tamarindo becomes the setting for a new chapter, where her studio opens its doors to children and adults seeking a creative space for inspiration, exploration, and meaningful connection through art. In the evenings, Tamarindo Studio also provides a safe and  nurturing artistic environment where kids can create, learn, and connect through the art sessions while parents enjoy time in town.
